Cabarete is a resort town on the north coast of the Dominican Republic. Cabarete Bay is protected by a coral reef. The calm waters, along with the windy conditions at Cabarete and Kite Beaches, make it a water sports center. Encuentro Beach, located to the north along the coast, is popular for surfing. The main street, Main Street, is lined with bars.
